We have a simple experiment you can do at home. All you need is skittles, a white plate, a heart cookie cutter and warm water! Watch and wait as a rainbow appears around the heart. Happy Love Day everyone!
Why do the colours whirl? Skittles are covered in sugar and food colouring and sugar, so when you pour water, the coating dissolves and spreads through the water. You can also try with M&Ms to see if this works too!
