Growing our own food!
For the past few months, our K1 kids planted and watered green bean plants in our outdoor playground. The seeds sprouted and grew into plants that bore beans! We then harvested them and cooked them for snack time.
Gardening is a healthy and fun activity for children as it helps them learn about science and nature from growing their own food. It also encourages healthy eating as it gives them a sense of pride in eating what they have “created.” Most importantly, it teaches children the virtue of patience and highlights the importance of taking care of the environment. At Mighty Oaks 奧恩, our school motto is "Where lifelong learning meets character development".
