After our students "bai leen" with their teachers, the students received "money" to spend at each stall. They had so much fun choosing which stalls they wanted to spend their coins on. We had them aiming and throwing balls into dogs' mouths to welcome the year of the dog. They shopped and laughed with their teacher shopkeepers and bought mandarin oranges, flowers and dog- themed items made by other classes. Some even became lions, drumming and dancing around school. The best part was when our kids kept coming back for seconds at the Chinese pudding stall, eating their way through organic, ginger flaxseed cakes! What a fun way to greet the new year!
