Acorn Class
The Acorn Class is facilitated by Acorn Group Limited, which also operates Acorn Playhouse in Wong Chuk Hang. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing educational environment that promotes kindergarten readiness and fosters independence. Our program focuses on various areas of development, including social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive growth through engaging hands-on learning experiences. We believe in the importance of moral education as the foundation of our curriculum, ensuring a holistic approach to the child's development during these critical early years.
Our Activities:
Music & Movement, Arts & Craft, Indoor & Outdoor Exercises, Storytime, Sensory, Messy Play & Experimental Inquiry

Why is sensory training important?
- Strengthens bonding: Parent and baby are led through a variety of integrated sensory activities designed to have a better understanding in each stage of child development.
- Develops key skills: Your child will be able to interact with other babies, enabling them to learn important social and personal skills and gain self-confidence.
- Stimulates development: Parents can learn how to stimulate and increase the development of their children’s psychomotor and vestibular skills. Babies’ physical, cognitive, multi-lingual and musical abilities will be enhanced over the course of the sensory classes.

In this age group, toddlers are introduced to our school's surroundings and daily routine. In a rich and nurturing environment, your child:
- Begins to build a foundation for moral development where he or she learns about the difference between right and wrong
- Expands memory and attention span through a series of interactive activities.
- Focuses on strengthening gross and fine motor skills to stimulate early brain development
- Expresses curiosity by touching/holding different types of materials.
- Engages with other people to help achieve a goal, e.g. to get an object out of reach
Growing Acorn / Mighty Acorn
18 - 24 months (2-hour session, accompanied by caregiver) / 24 - 30 months (1.5-hour session, accompanied by caregiver)
The adventure of self-discovery truly begins and grows along with our inquiry activities, early in the second year of life, your child:
- Learns how to identify emotions, and begins to express through different methods of communication with others
- Begins to put two words together (e.g. ‘want ball’, ‘more juice’)
- Can use some counting words randomly and develop ability to recognize certain colours and shapes
- Notices what adults do, imitating what is observed and then doing it spontaneously when an adult is not present
- Demonstrates a sense of self as an individual, e.g. wants to do things independently, says “No” to adults
